Projects
Innovative treatment for excessive sweating using a proprietary cosmeceutical containing recombinant neurotoxin.
Science4Beauty Sp. z o. o. in consortium with the Warsaw University of Technology, Center for Advanced Materials and Technologies CEZAMAT is implementing a project entitled: Innovative therapy for excessive sweating using an original cosmeceutical containing recombinant neurotoxin.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE
The aim of the project is to develop a cosmetic formulation containing recombinant neurotoxins for use in the treatment of hyperhidrosis. It is planned to develop a sustainable and ecological, innovative method of producing two recombinant neurotoxins, confirm their structure and properties, develop a cosmetic formulation ensuring their stability and activity, and confirm the effectiveness of the developed cosmeceutical in a clinical trial with the participation of volunteers.
The following TASKS will be implemented as part of the project:
1. Biosynthesis of recombinant neurotoxins in a prokaryotic expression system.
The aim of the task is to develop an efficient E. coli bacterial expression system for the production of recombinant neurotoxins, which will be used in an innovative cosmeceutical for the treatment of hyperhidrosis.
2. Laboratory-scale production and purification of recombinant neurotoxins and cosmeceutical formulation.
The aim of Task 2 is to develop effective purification methods and cosmeceutical formulations that will maintain biological activity and ensure the stability of the developed neurotoxins.
3. Studies of formulations containing active neurotoxins for clinical trials.
The aim of the task is to assess the safety, efficacy and properties of recombinant neurotoxins, which will enable their further use in the cream formulation.
4. Research on scaling the cultivation of bacterial strains producing neurotoxins and preparation of a cosmeceutical base with neurotoxins for application research.
The aim of the task is to obtain a procedure for scaling the process of obtaining the neurotoxin and to confirm the stability and microbiological purity of the cosmeceutical in the target packaging.
5. Conducting a medical research experiment with volunteers to assess the effectiveness of the cosmeceutical
The aim of the task is to verify the effectiveness of a cosmeceutical in the treatment of excessive sweating.
TARGET GROUPS
The target group of the project are consumers looking primarily for EFFECTIVENESS SAFETY and NON-INVASIVENESS of use for a long time. These are also priority features of products sought in the fight against excessive sweating.
According to research, approximately 3% of the population and up to 45% of middle-aged men struggle with excessive sweating, and the problem most often manifests itself in the armpits, hands, or feet.
PROJECT RESULTS
The Applicant's product will be the first product that works by selectively blocking Nav1.8 receptors that activate the sweating process - a mechanism of action different from that used in competitors' products. The product will take the form of a modern cosmeceutical with local action, which limits side effects, while also containing an active neurotoxin that works on the problem of excessive sweating.

Conocream – a new generation of myorelaxing cosmeceutical

Project objective:
The aim of the project is to obtain a new generation cosmeceutical with a myorelaxant effect, analogous to botulinum toxin, in a previously unused E.coli bacterial expression system, applicable in the industry of innovative biocosmetic products.
Planned effects:
-obtaining active recombinant conotoxins with increased biological activity and stability in the bacterial expression system by chemical modification of the biological structure of the protein,
-development of a method for producing proteins by culturing them in bacterial strains,
-development of a cosmeceutical formulation ensuring the stability and biological activity of the active substance and safety of use.
